How to lock doors with engine running

Ok everyone I searched and I cant find the thread for this. Im pretty sure I just saw this the other day.
Basically what I want to do is be able to lock my doors while my engine is running and use my remote fob to unlock the truck. I have an '01. I thought I saw a sequence of locking and unlocking then with door actuator or something like that. Thanks in advance.

I dont have a fob but I dont see why you cant just lock it from inside with the button on the door then fob it to unlock. either way have a spare key incase it dont work.

I installed a remote start. These trucks are so easy to break in to, when they take off, they have your keys. if its running, they could be gone with it within seconds of realizing its just sitting there with no one in it.

the remote start allows me to start it with the remote, and then unlock it, put the key n, then go on my way. if someone brakes the glass, opens a door, steps on the brakes/clutch wthout the key in, it shuts the truck off and sets off the alarm, which sends a page to my key fob.

Thanks for the replies but it doesnt work. With the key in the ignition the fob doesnt work. Even if you start it then manually lock the doors and try to open with fob. I have seen that some 03 models allow you to use the fob while key is in the ignition. Im basically looking for a way to bypass it. Of course i could just carry another key with me but that would defeat the idea I'm working on. Thanks for the input though guys.

Look like thats what I might have to do. I was just thinking that there was a way to do it with code sequences or something. I dont leave my truck running outside of my sight. Besides I do leave it running in the winter in front of my house unlocked....feel bad for the poor sob that does try and jump in that truck. He's gonna meet a 200plb St.Bernard that isnt so nice to strangers...lol
What remote system did you get? It works well with a diesel? Thanks for your input as well sir.
