tune up
I have an 02 F250 4x4 7.3L. I have had it a few months and already did one oil change and figured its due for the next.
I live in Southern CA so coldstarts really aren't an issue. What oil thickness would be recommended? I did a search and as far as the trans goes it is recommended to use Devron III/Mercon but how many quarts do I need? I am also looking at swapping the fluid in both differentials. What type of oil do I use for this? Recently I've been towing a dual axle 8x16 with 4 street bikes and tons of gear and random crap. I just want to make sure that I can continue towing it without an issue. I pretty much take the trailer out once or twice a month on a 3-7 hr drive to various race tracks |

The auto trans holds 17.7 quarts including the torque converter. The front axle takes a 75W-90 and the rear takes 75W-140. I'm running Royal Purple in the diffs on 1 truck and Amsoil in the other truck. The transfer case is also very easy to change the oil in and it takes ATF also.
