what is a good intake

I have a 99 f-250 and i was wanting a good intake i know there not cheap but i want a good cheap one

DIY Tymar intake works well. Napa part# 6637 (filter), two clamps and a piece of 4'' something to get it on the intake hose.

You could also just do the "DIY Tymar-style" intake. I just did it; cost me under $50. Sound is much better, especially the "whoosh".

Search for 'DIY Tymar' for details.

my number 1 selling intake is the AFE but its expensive.... i also carry my own dry filter kits that are a lil cheaper... but your best bang for your bucks is the DIY tymar intake...

My buddy called mine (Napa 6637) a shop-vac filter.

It's about that size too, but it's cool.

That POS napa filter cost more than 30.00 even wholesale. I'm wholesale with napa and now better than that.

The donaldson is much much better filter. Not everybody is mechanically inclined or know where to get the parts for the diy.

here another tidbit. Long run the DIY will cost you more.It's cheap now but a couple of filters later it's not. Buy the AFE stage 2 PG7.
