Oil Question
I知 the proud owner of a new 99 F-250 well new to me. It has 120000 miles and runs great. I知 wondering what oil I should run, Motor, Transmission and both front and rear differentials. Weather I should run synthetic or not just any information would be help full. I have the book so I know what Ford recommends. I知 new to the diesel world; I just want to see what you all would recommend.

This has been asked and debated so so so so so many times and every time its the same thing...
You're going to get as many answers as there are members on this forum. What it comes down to is keep the fluid changed, keep the filters changed, and don't worry to much about what brand is on the container. Just make sure that your oil is diesel rated. Now personally I use Motorcraft oil and oil/fuel filters. For the diff and the trans I usually use O'Reilly brand or "Country Tough" (Orschlens brand) with limited slip aditive in the rear end. |

Is there an oil that you don't have to add the friction addative to for the rear end?

Amsoil front to rear. Being a dealer makes it worthwhile.

Amsoil has great products for you truck. I run Amsoil front to rear as well in my Chevy. You don't need to be a dealer to get a discount. With the Preferred Customer Program you get the same price that I can receive as a dealer.
Let me know if you would like a quote. |

I assumed you were a dealer I was just letting the OP know he does not need to be a dealer to get a good price.
