Is your Ford tough?

I get passed this morning on I-40 by a young girl in a Suzuki Vitara. Of course, she was pressing buttons on her cell phone (texting?) when she passed me. A half mile later, she slowed down and I passed her only to run into some road maintenance where everyone merged together into one lane.

Anyway, the traffic came to a stop, and I looked into my rear-view mirror and saw that she wasn't slowing down. I had nowhere to go and she slammed into me at full speed. She hit me so hard that my mirrors were folded in.

I didn't get a picture of the Suzuki, but the entire front clip was demolished and car parts were all over the highway.

My damage? A dented bumper. After I filled out the State Trooper's paperwork and denied the service by the EMS crew, I picked a few pieces of headlight and grill from between the bumper and tailgate, popped my mirrors back out and drove on to work.

The county Sheriff helping with the traffic commented on how tough my truck was. I couldn't agree more.

I thought I created a sig with that info. It's a 2001 2WD Crew Cab. I just got it less than a month ago.

Glad to hear, but you may want to have the truck checked out anyway....

My buddy had an Exploder that was rear ended...didn't look like much damage, but it wound up bending the frame, and there were kinks in the pillars and on the roof that were unnoticed by the insurance adjuster...the thing was a mess and needed a lot more work than originally anticipated.

that is very similar to me, i was going down the road about 45 mph or so and the car in front of me was goin all over the road it was a two land road, so me passing that is not even a question on a sold yellow...anyway he said he missed his turn thats why he slammed on brakes right in the middle of the road, i went into him, the car behind me came into me and it was a huge domino effect. anyway turns out the guy was drunk and had no clue what he was doing. he paid for everything. so when i got hit in the back i had my big drop hitch on that stopped the car well hooked it like a fish and just bent it. the front i had my brush guard on when this happened and all it did was take some chunks of rubber out of the front of it that is all. no dents, scratches, dings, or bent pieces at all! i love my truck! oh as for what he was in, a 2003 ford explorer i took out all the back glass on the hatch door and left a indentation where the brush guard was at.
