EGT Temp
Just wondering-with the new Isspro gauges -what is normal egt idle temp?
At idle-mine runs @ 250-300---75 degree outside temp. When I lay down on it-it will go to 900 degrees unloaded-is this normal? ![]() Haven't tested with 10,000lb trailer yet ![]()

Sounds about normal. Mine idles at about 210-270 depending on how its been driven and how long I'll let it idle down. On level 3 on my Edge, if I really get on it, it'll nip at 1000 degrees unloaded, so I'd say you're good.

I got a 97 with a Banks 3" downpipe to a 4" exhaust. Still has the cat and muffler until the new straight pipe comes in. 3 Position chip unknown brand as it came with truck and a DIY intake also. I run about 250 - 300 idle and 450 cruising around town. If I HAMMER it I can see 600 around town and doing 75 - 80 on freeway I see about 450 - 550. I towed my rock buggy and trailer a few days ago in 90 degree temps at 80 mph on freeway and was around 550 - 650. Trailer and buggy weigh in at about 6k. I did see almost 900 but that was HAMMERING it with the trailer and up a hill on an on ramp. So I would say your about right.
P.S. my EGT is JUST out of the turbo where the banks kit puts it. |
