Changed Battery Cable and now Battery Light ON. Help...

I replaced my positive battery cable on my truck today and when I was done I started truck and the battery light is on. Why is the battery light on? What causes that light to come on? I am sure everything is hooked up right. It runs ok and starts ok but the battery light is on. Can anyone help please?

Pop the alternator off and get it tested. That can cause it too.

ohhh. Hm. Is everything tight tight tight? on both batts. I know it sounds a little ... newbish but once mine flipped out cause they were corroded and not as tight as possible, batt light came on, then gauges went haywire. it was weird. But even your belts, and that tensioner, make sure all that's good too.

It was actually just one of the wires on the starter solenoid had fallen off when I disconnected it and I didnt see it. I think it was the wire that went to the alternator. Hooked it up and all is good now.
