This may be slightly retarded...
I was at work yesterday and naturally, got to thinking about stuff to do to the truck. I was wondering if anyone has run their own 110 outlet for accessories outside of the truck. What alternator you would need (assuming the stock alternator won't hold up), any kinds of additional fuses you would need. I did some searching and haven't seen a write up so I figgered I'd just post it up!

All you need is an inverter with a high enough wattage to power whatever you need to run. Wire it to the batteries with a switch and your good to go

The further from the battery the bigger wires you will need. inorder to figure out how big the wires should be you first need to figure out what you want to power. I have a 200 watt inverter in my truck that I use to power small things. it plugs into the cig lighter. not going to power much but works well to charge the laptop or cell phones or the little pump I use to blowup the tube when we goto the lake.
