4R100 HD TRansmission

I installed a Banks Billet Torque Converter about 3 years ago in my 2000 F-350 4x4 7.3 Super Duty to avoid the typical converter failures. Guess what my converter took a dump into my coolers and started overheating. I am now forced to replace my complete transmission. Ford offers a 4R100 Heavy Duty version replacement with a upgraded converter. Does any one know if this HD replacement can be used to tow in Over Drive? My other option is a Suncoast Transmission replacement with a billett torque converter (and a empty bank account) that is built to tow in Over Drive.There is about a $2000 price difference. I nwoul appreciate help in making the right decision. My truck has all the Banks upgrades available, and I have always monitored my transmission temperatures. Thanks.

Another option people rave about on here is Brian's Transmission Shop (BTS) which does rebuilds and is pretty much guaranteed for life (although it does come with a cost, but, you get what you pay for). You may want to look into them.

Another vote for BTS, I have yet to recieve mine, (2 weeks) but with dealing with them for the past month over the phone, I have never been more satisfied with any other outfit I have dealt with

I would call Brian at BTS, and talk to him personally, he will thoroughly talk to you and explain EVERYTHING and inform you about the tranny he will build you. I 've found the best time to get ahold them is 8-9 CST.

LOL... BTS only builds one type of transmission. And that's heavy F'n duty.
