Drove a 7.3 4x4 Manual Trans... Felt Sluggish?

So I actually never driven a 7.3 compared to my 6.0...

Its a F350 4x4 SWR Crew Cab 5/6 spd... (5speed with a L gear)

It felt... Like Sluggish... Had to rev up to 15-1800 to get it going in first... I thought these trucks had so much torque that I shouldn't have to do that?

In concern... Hows the power difference in a 7.3 Compared to a 6.0?

00' F250 CCSB Lariat 4x4 - 197k.

285 BFG ATs, 6637 Intake.

My brother in law has an 05 FX4 SuperCab, and it is much quicker stock than my 7.3 2wd CrewCab. Granted they are both auto, there is a pretty big difference between the 6.0 and the 7.3.

The numbers differ depending on the year of the truck. A pre 99.5 truck has less ( dont know the exact numbers but is around 235) while the newer ones have about 250.

And by the way, a 99 powerstroke is very doggy without a chip. I once switched my friends truck back to stock from 100hp and he thought something was wrong with the truck.

the psd (obs anyway) seems to spool about 1800 rpm under normal unloaded acceleration. and 6.0 has the VGT. huge difference right there alone. the 6.0 was designed for emissions and to compete with the dmax and cummins. so it will have more go stock than a stock 7.3.
