increased egts?

hey guys i have a few questions. first of all.. i noticed having higher egts than normal lately. for example today i was on the hwy with no load and was seeing 10-11(up hills), it also wouldnt cool down under 6 when i got home and was just idling.

i shut the truck off and waited 20 min then started it up and was seeing 2-3k so normal. i only have straight piped exhaust and an intake. should i get a 5" kit to try and lower some temps or am i looking at a bigger problem.

also is this a 6.0 tranny cooler?

my last question is i have 35's and 373s should i regear?

looks like one to me,
on the increased egt's have you checked your air filter?
