ok, so we put the sotck tires back on my truck for mileage, loaded up the truck with stuff incase we needed change a tire or inflate a tire and just about everything else you could think of that we might need. everything was going good until i got to the 211 mile marker in iowa, millersberg (i think is how it is spelled). passed a semi heading to nebraska and noticed a cloud behind me. thought that stirred up some dust. kept on going a little ways and noticed that it was coming from my truck. pulled over and stopped. one of my brothers jumped out and said that a break locked up. which i thought was wierd, since it wasn't pulling or anything. went around to the passenger side to look and saw nothing coming from the brakes, touched them - not hot. looked between the front tire and fender towards the engine and noticed a stream of oil about the thickness of my tiny fingers and said ah sh!! shut the truck off. opened that hood and saw that the top of the motor was covered w/ oil. son of !!!. looked all over for the leak and nothing. got the other brother out of the truck and had him look for the leak while i tried to start it. there it was. high pressure oil line running from hpop to the passenger side bank. got a wrecker, towed us back to his shop (across from ford dealership). wrecker driver owned a parts store, he didn't have the part. asked if there was a bar in town. wrecker said no , it's dry town. son of a !!!. but he was jokin' thank god. wrecker driver nice guy, let us borrow whatever tools that we didn't bring, which wasn't many. go to bar to drown our sorrows. met a guy asked us if we wanted to stay at his house instead of sleeping in truck. told him no thank you and headed for the truck. as we were leaving he told us that we could use his car to get the part. woke up early to get part, fix truck and be on our way. only 1 dealership in all of iowa had part and it was in griswald. other side of state. borrowed car and told the owner of car that we going to griswald to get it. he didn't know where it was, told him not far away. right around 400 miles and 6 hrs. later we came back w/ car and part. owner of car said that he would of had one of his brother's met us half way with the part if he knew that we were going that far. we filled his car and gave him $70.00 for letting us use his car. when we got to griswald, parts manager stated that he didn't know anything about the part. looked for it and couldn't find it. i had called before we left and asked if he had part and that not to sell it because we were on our way. other guy had pulled the part and put it somewhere (thank god, probably would of freaked right the fu#$ed out if they didn't have it). put the part back in, 1 gallon of oil and were were on our way again. so what would of been roughly a 28 hrs. tripped turned into a 60 hr trip. had to call sick to work wednesday. got home around 1900 hrs wednesday when i was supposedly to be at work. but all in all it was an adventure and fun. truck pulled great. man i need to race some people w/ the stock tire size on my truck. it is fast, wow. figured that i would let you all know how it went. oh ya, we spent almost $30.00 at burger king between the 3 of us in omaha. funny sh!t. if u break down pray that it is in millersberg in iowa **** good people there!!!! sorry so long.
