fuel tank strainer #

for those of you who have the dreaded run out of fuel at a 1/4 tank issue, like myself, i have finally found the part number for the plastic umbrella shaped strainer at the bottom of the fuel pick up that breaks off. it is e5tz-9j306-ba. it shows that it used on 99-07 7.3 and 6.0 diesels. i went to the dealer and they just looked at me funny, their parts diagram didnt show anything so they had no clue what i was talking about. by the way, tousley ford had it the cheapest, $19.00.

Thanks a lot Gary! been trying to figure out how to do the in-tank mod so many have done, but with a work around to replace my rotted useless pick-up strainer foot. I was even thinking of using a stainless stell funnel with the strainer from the old pick-up foot! Now if I can mange to get this from a local FORD dealer here in the Dallas/Forth Worth area without having to wait forever and a day....
