Then i would jump on it if you dont mind the title. I have had many salvage cars and loved them just the same. Go look at it take it on the highway, over bumpy roades, and just what ever you can find, Offer the cost of fuel if he likes, just make sure you put some miles on it before you say ok.

When I was an insurance adjuster - when were were totalling a vehicle that already had a salvage title - (ie. trying to obtain a value for it) - we would have to do a market search.

Almost always the value of the vehicle with a salvage/rebuilt title was 50% of the retail value. Talk about people hating me!

Well now Im back on the fence....I told him the most I could give him was what the bank would give me for it...He wanted me to come up and look at before wednesday. If I was a seller I could wait 3-4 more days for a extra 1500 bucks, and not deal with some yahoo(me) asking so many ****ed questions!

Sounds like this dude is trying to pressure you. As tempting as it is, if I were you, I'd walk. This just doesn't feel right to me. IMHO you'd be better off with a higher-mileage 7.3 with no baggage and skeletons in the closet.

My truck was a rebuild, and It's been great, just make sure it was done right.

I'd walk away from it... A total mess it sounds like. The whole cab was replaced? I could only imagine what was put back together haphazardly. What was damaged and not replaced even. I would wait man.. There are plenty of nice low mile trucks around.. without these kinds of issues. Just be patient.

I'd say as long as it was repaired professionally, and the guy has documentation it should be okay. Just because it has a salvage title doesn't necessarily mean it's junk!
