Well the roll over explanes why the paint looks good. If its going to be a work truck I would say go for it if the chassie is in good condition plus that seems like a good price. But one thing I just thought of is, what if a lower mile instrument cluster was replaced along with the new cab and the truck has more miles than what is claimed.

Now your talking fraud. If the instrument cluster has been replaced, they either match the odometer to the old one. Which in these trucks is easy to my knowledge because the pcm actaully stores the miles in it some how.

But if there is a different cluster and the miles being advertized are not the exact miles then the title work would have to state that. If the title does not state that then your talking fraud and it is a criminal offense that can get you federal jail time.

I know this because I have a guy who owned a used car lot and was doing that same thing. Now he is sitting in federal prison for 5 years.

Not necessarily, I saw a salvage title on a pickup out of Texas that the only damage was the front bumper and the air bag had gone off. Each sate has it's own rules.
The inside of the truck looks to be a Lariet with the leather seats and all. If you are a person who keeps your trucks for 10 or more years, and you can get the price down to around 15 it mite be worth it.

Didn't mean to rase anymore suspision. I was just putting a thought out there. I would go get the mileage thing checked out if I was going to buy a truck with a salvaged title.

You got to be politically correct it is no longer suspision, it is interest. IE the police are looking for a person of interest.

I don't know what happened I just know that they are no longer suspects.

Just my 2 cents, and seeing how my father has been a dealer of salvige cars/trucks for 10 years, I asked him what its worth, He said if it was going to be bought and sold. then 9grand. If its a keeper like some one to keep all the lives then you might get 12/12.5 out of it. the salvage title is what broke the deal. But this is jus my 2 cents. He also said that once you tell the bank that its salvage they will no longer loan. Most banks will not finace a salvage title, but if you do find one that does most likely they will only offer low nada loan -35%

The bank is aware that its a salvage, and they are willing to finance 17k for it. The owner claims to have an offer for 18500 if he still has it on wednesday. Still undecided at this point. Its going to cost me $72 bucks to get it on the rack, but im not sure if I want to go forward. Its too bad, its everything Im looking for, except the salvage title of course.

Well, they may just be telling you that so you will try and come up with more money. Old sales mans trick. Heck, they tried to do that when I was buying my truck. They told me someone else had put in an offer on it and was like 200 yards away. Waiting on what I did. I told them to lets go talk to them, or go ahead. Needless to say, there was no one and I got my truck.
