Degas bottle residue?
Hey just noticed a blackish residue in the inside of my degas bottle around where the coolant level is. There isn't an oil slick on the coolant and my oil is not milky... so I don't fear the worst, but is this residue normal? It's not a ton, just enough to notice.
Thanks. Scott |

Hey Scott. I noticed this on my truck today. Keep an eye on it. I think its somewhat normal but it could be a sign of oil cooler o rings going out. I ordered the rebuild kit for mine just in case.

as the above poster said.
oil cooler is the main thing that causes oil in the coolant degas bottle. |
