cetane booster is used to make the fuel more burnable, it ignites faster the higher the cetane # (to a certain point) somewhere around 55.

if i remember right, its oposite octane booster, which slows the combustion down to prevent knocking on the gassers

Ah... So lower sulfer is like a catalyst for cetane in diesel? Cetane booster products just add that sulfer right back in, or cetane itself?

Cetane is the combustion quality isn't it?

USLD still has the same cetane rating, it's just lower sulfur by a lot?

I've been using the Stanadyne in my truck. The diesel shop here told me to use the reccomended amount every third tank. What does everyone else do?

What about the 07s? What should be used in them if anything? When the new 07s came out (or shortly before tehy came out) the diesel pumps were stating the fuel is not to be used in 07 diesels. Should I still be putting something extra in there anyway?

Sorry, just relized this was the wrong place to ask this, I have the 6.0L.

Blame it on the newbie!
