Is this feesable with just intake/exhaust/tuner?

I Just got a 2000 550 for work, towing campers mainly. Is 300hp an attainable goal with just the DIY intake, 3.5" straight exhaust, and a DP tuner? It needs to be 100% reliable, and wouldn't be hot rodded at all.

If not, what other things do I need to look at. I know there are threads all over about mods but none I've seen give clear hp numbers.

Thanks,

E

Deff, you will need gauges, and everything will need to properly functioning (no leaks, or missing injectors, or low fuel pressure), Also some trans upgrades should be in order, you auto or man?

I'm running an auto. I was under the impression the tranny could hold up to around 400hp, but I was planning on upgrading it when it was due, but not before. Would I need a full on upgraded tranny or just a beefier torque converter?

nah, you said you will be towing, it wont last!

I would do a BTS or John Wood valve body, Torque converter, and a big cooler, you should be good to 400 then
