2000 7.3 new noise
This posting is about my brother-in-law's 2000 F-250 PSD. He has a Hypertech programmer, K&N intake kit, and magnaflow exhaust with no cat. He just put an a remanufactored heavy duty transmissions from a place in Denver (can get the name if needed). With an upgraded intercooler, torque converter, and tranny cooler. Whenever the truck is under a heavy load (up mountain with truck camper on back), when he lets off the throttle he is getting a growling noise. Any ideas? Truck won't do it unless it is under a lot of load. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Is it a steady growl or does it seem choppy? If it is choppy, that is likely compressor surge. If it is steady, it could be related to the trans.
