Tranny fluid change
I plan on doing a tranny fluid change in my X. 2000 4R100. It has 56K on it. I am using a guide here:
Changing ATF Fluid in a E4OD and 4R100 transmission .: Articles I bought a diesel-site tranny filter, gauge and flush valve also that I need to install. Has anyone used this? should i put it on before or after or during does it matter.... and on fluid; I bought Valvoline Dex/Merc 75,000 fluid. Is this Ok or should I opt for something else? I am really rather clueless on the tranny fluid scene.... I'd like an all synthetic fluid but Napa didn't have any when I went and 2 workers argued that all Mercon V is synthetic, IDK I tow heavy, about 10,ooo when it's all said and done. But I have only towed about 4600 miles with it Last edited by cesspool; 07-31-2010 at 04:04 PM. |

Dont use the mercon V. Ford says its ok now. But at first they said no. Its a debate I dont want to start again. The dex/merc is fine.
