newbie questions
hi guys, i just got a 99 4x4 f250 psd and am working out a few bugs here and there on it.. i have a few questions..
1 what's up with the search on this site? i type in ball joints in the 99-03 forum and get 2000 results totally unrelated. am i doing something wrong? 2. my rear door locks don't pull down or push up, but i can hear the actuators working.. i pulled the door and the rod that goes over to the pivot point just doesn't move enough, but when i grab and move it, the lock does work. sooo i need actuators right? anybody have a preferred source? are the ebay ones ok? 3. anybody have a sensibly priced rotor source for front rotors on an early 99? napa, ebay, etc?? my build date is 9-98... 4. my truck seems to take 5-7 seconds of cranking before it fires up.. after i wait on the light to go out.. is this fairly normal? or should i be concerned ? thanks i'm really enjoying this forum.. i've already found alot of good stuff just lurking.. |

door lock actuators can be repaired, someone has a right up on it, I need to find it again to fix mine.
I got rotors for 125 at oreilly's, I have an early 99 also. My trucks takes a few seconds to fire also, it's the 15° HPOP building pressure, 99.5 trucks with a 17° or if you get a aftermarket pump will start a little quicker. |

I have to agree with the Search Engine here......
I don't know why it sucks So Bad I've tried quotes (" ") I've tried AND, it's just AWFUL and unproductive ![]() To make matters worse, SO Many of the searches really need to be 3 letters (IDM - CCV - CPS - etc) and the stupid Search rejects any query less than 4..... |

thanks, you're happy with the oreilly rotors? did ya get the two year warranty ones?
i still havent figured out the search function here.. door actuator repair brings up a thousand results.. |

If you're going to replace actuators, I'd suggest RockAuto.com. They are pretty cheap over there... I was looking into them as I have one that is getting finicky.

good news is i don't need rotors.. had my tires balanced and the slow braking wobble went away.. bad news is i've got about a quarter inch of slop in the ball joints..

x3 on the search. it pulls threads that have your search tems in them. so i use google to search the org, much better.
