Is it not like other wastegates where you loosen the nut on the rod, loosen or tighten the rod to your desired length and retighten the retainer nut?

i dont have one just guessing..

I've "heard" that depending on how the wastegate is set your EGTs can be higher or lower? Is that true?

good question. i've only adjusted mine once since it was installed and nothing changed that i noticed
