map sensor question 2000 F350

I just bought a 2000 dually. I was running my tube for my boost gauge and the line coming off of the map sensor is hooked up to the driveside of the y where the intercooler pipe hooks too. Previous owner tapped into the y with a fitting for it to hook to. What does this do? Should I hook it back up where it is supposed to go?

This is where they had the map sensor hooked to.. The fitting just to the right of the green connector..

This is where it is supposed to be hooked up, right..

Mine is tapped above the AIH on the opposite side of what yours is on the Y pipe, at the time I think I was told it would read off either side......Fred
