a little new to the 7.3

Alright so I have a work truck that is a 99 7.3 standard tranny and when I drive it it is so so so slow and I just can't believe that's just the way 7.3s are stock I mean a 1980's honda civic is a rocket compared to this thing the truck is just at 100k is this normal if not what am I looking for?

It shouldn't be THAT slow.

Try actually pushing the pedal down.

I try and drive it like I stole it but then I'm just keeping up with traffic my 6.0 stock feels like a hot rod I just wouldn't think the 7.3 would be like this, what's the issue or what should I look at that could cause this

It shouldn't be that slow when you get on it. My 7.3 has plenty of get up and go, enough to get me into trouble that is. Has the regular maintenance been kept up? Fuel filter, air filter, oil change, etc?
