how many cans r134a

i pulled motor and removed the condensor. how many cans of r134a should it take and what kind of pag oil? trying to limit trips to store

A '99 F-250 (I don't know anything about your truck, but it should be the same for all years) 7.3l takes 9oz. of Motorcraft YN-12c PAG oil (or probably an equivalent with the specification WSH-M1C231-B) and 32oz. of R134-a.

uh im right under 3lbs according to the sticker on the body.


and if you pulled it, you are better off going to get it done professionally since you will need to pull a vac in the system to draw the r134 in.

Yes a vacuum must be pulled on the system before charging so you don't have any air contamination.
