Before I BREAK something........

My Cruise Control works fine with the ON button, but it doesn't turn OFF with that button, so it needs fixing.

Can I use a screwdriver to pop the rocker off the steering wheel or is there another trick to removing the On/Off rocker?

And is the failed OFF button a fixable thing or do I need that whole dam assembly?

yep, that works fine...but do you know how the guy following me feels when he sees a brake light coming on in the middle of the highway?????

I'd rather not rattle anybody's cage with a brake light. I use cruise all the time, so having it work right is important to me (and to the guy behind me).

You can't repair the button. The airbag has to come out to remove the button. I think they come as a complete set.

well, that sux. So there's no way I can pry the rocker off without destroying it? If I can get it off, then I can try some contact cleaner on the innards.

I'm sure you can pry it off but it will break and I don't think you can get to the contacts anyway. The switches have wires that run out of them and plug into a connector under the airbag.
