Post OBS HPOP on 2001 Superduty

Hi, im new to powerstroke.org......but i was wandering if a high pressure oil pump off of a old body style 7.3 powerstroke would work on a 2001 superduty 7.3....... and also what are different about the two pumps? thanks PN

I believe the '01 has a better hpop, so it would be a downgrade, but it might work. The obs trucks had different injectors that required less oil pressure. It wouldn't be recommended. Welcome to the .org! There's a ton of good info here

To the best of my knowledge, what Bryan has told you is true... not sure why you'd wanna put a OBS HPOP on a SD, a lot of OBS guys want the SD HPOP for their trucks.

i was jes wandering because i have a brand new one that i found in our farm shop for one of the previous trucks we used to use on the farm..... it was just a point to ponder... lol i guess i need to sell it then.... im shure someone could use that thang on here....

I can't believe I paid the Ford dealer that was servicing my truck a grand for this part. I just needed it fixed, so I gave then the OK over the phone. I see new pumps on ebay for about $300.
