Truck got hit

Some kid backed into dad's truck at walmart tonight.

Me and my gf drove separate and met them to eat, then just followed them to walmart. Well, we left right before they did. I had parked right across from them on the next row. His truck was fine when I was getting in the car. But as I'm looking in my rear-view to back out, I noticed the safety pin on his pintle hitch is swinging by the chain. And there was a burgundy Chevy 1500 hauling *** out of the parking lot.

I chased him down, and in the meantime I call dad and say "Hey, ya might wanna get out here, I'm chasing the guy that hit your truck in the parking lot"

The kid circles around and comes back and parks next to dad's truck. Guess he noticed me on his azz and figured he wasn't gettin away.

I whipped in beside him, and get out and ask "Why were you running?!". He's like "I got freaked out man im sorry". lol

Then about that time I see dad coming through the parking lot toward him. He yells like hell at the kid. I thought dad was gonna kill him!

The kid tried to give dad $300 to forget it happened. Dad yells "I cant paint the fender for 300 bucks!" So by this time the cop is ther and takes the report and all that good stuff.

Mind you, we're driving this truck to Daytona Beach tomorrow night.

It actually smashed the side of the bed in, so its not just the fender that's gonna need replaced.

Having someone hitting my truck in a parking lot last year, I really feel for your dad. Forturnately, the lady didn't try to get away. My insurance really made sure the truck was fixed right, but I absolutely hated having it damaged in the first place.

Hope everything works out for your Dad and his truck.

The last time I checked, a hit and run is a felony. Time to throw this kid's a$$ in the gray bar hotel.

Hate to hear that for anyone. I did the same thing last week pulling into a parking spot at a local grocery store. overshot the spot and hit the car parked next to me. Didn't do anything to the Excursion, but sure bent the hell out of that POS "Luxury" car. I was taking their license plate and car information when an old man and his wife walked up. I let them know that I had hit it. They were very relieved that I stayed for them. My insurance is taking very good care of them.
