Engine noise from around gear shift boot

I just had my clutch replaced and now the engine noise in the cab is loud as hell. It's coming from the shifter area. I replaced the boot several years ago but can't remember exactly what's down there. Is there an inner seal that the mechanic left out?

well I just took mine apart tonight cuz I have the same noise problem bc some ******* broke the plastic piece, but anyway to answer your question mine has to rubber boots of course the one you see inside the truck and then underneath it is another boot that snaps to the bottom of the plastic bezel if he didn't snap that back on then that is where your noise is coming from
