Help needed!
ok..got my problem narrowed down some. I was stranded a couple weeks ago with my '02 7.3L...started fine then died as I put in gear..went to re-start, would not re-fire..checked what I could, replaced kam sensor(cuz thats what the scan tool said was malfunctioning) did not work...had to leave my truck for someone else to look at. He called today and noticed that there was no oil pressure on initial start..spun engine over until it fired...about 30 seconds or so(I did not try doing that..I spun it maybe 15 seconds at the most each time I tried.) Now it will start...but will take several seconds of turning it over before it will fire. Seems to run fine after start. I did not ask if he tried starting it with-in a few minutes of shutting off...but if it sits for an hour or so, it will start hard. I have noticed that when I've started it in the past the oil pressure gage will lag after initial start-up...like be at nothing then pops right up to where it should be...
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated...send me in the right direction!
