4R100 and OD question
I was talking to a buddy of mine today, and he asked me if I disabled OD while driving in town. I haven't been, didn't know I should be?
He said it would keep tranny temps down and will make it last longer if you don't use OD until you expect to be able to do 40+ for more than a short distance. Any thoughts on this? ![]() Thanks! |

No need to take it out of OD... If the truck is not hunting for gears then leave it alone, its designed to keep the RPM's in the right range. The only thing it will do is lower your MPG and for the most part raise tranny temps.
So bottom line, leave it alone, unless its hunting. |
