First Tow

Hey, guys...

Picked up my '99 CC 4x4 F250 about a month ago (****, here comes the first payment ). I'm going to do my first ever tow with it. I'll be towing a small box trailer (for a couple quads) and maybe some bikes in the bed. I realize that ain't much for this truck but as it's my first tow is there anything to watch out for?
What rpm's to keep it at/under/over temps etc... I'll be doing medium sized hills as well.

Thanks!

Will

The only temps you should be worried about are trans and exhaust. If you are on stock tuning then really shouldnt be a problem. I've pulled 12K behind mine and engine temp never moved.

Tranny wise you shouldnt have much weight but if you notice the torque convertor starting to engage/disengage quickly, pop it out of od.

RPM's shouldnt matter.

Also if you have a tunner and guages keep it under 1250 deg. If you have no tunner i doubt you will have anytemp issues.

FYI, you will get the best miliage at 2000-2200 RPM other than that you should be just fine, just don't forget the trailer is back there lol

I am moving to TN from NY. I will be filling my truck bed full and will be towing my wifes car behind the truck with the wheek dolly. I have a DP tuner 4 position. Auto. What is a good trans temp to stay under. I notice it creeps up when sitting in traffic on warmer days and Since I will be making the move in July I wanna be safe.
