Welcome to Powerstroke.org ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I can't tell you about the limits of the trans, but I'll say Hi and bump this up so that it's more likely to be seen by those who can. |

There is no rhyme or reason why the 4r100 goes out. Stock power levels can kill it, or it can hold 400 hp. The best thing to do is call BTS after you get the tranny and for 4 grand out the door you have a tranny you can't break and if you do Brian will fix it.
Duramax's are EXTREMELY quick and with just a programmer are up over 400 hp. You're going to need a built tranny, injectors and programming to beat one that's chipped. Also you need to look for a late 99 or 00 build with forged rods otherwise you'll end up breaking the rods. Enjoy. |

i agree with marty... all the stuff in my sig only got me to 300hp 600torque and thats with a fullly rebuilt tranny because the original one couldnt handle the power...... if you want a fast ford go with a later model 6.0.. those things are quick just with a programmer... also the chevy's are a lot lighter truck and in a quarter mile they are hard to beat with a 7.3. another thing to keep in mind if you go 4x4 the chevy has IFS which is their weak link.. just my 2cents
