What the hell
Now I know my mirrors slide in because there is paint scratched off where they have been pushed in and out. Is it common for them to get stuck? What is the procedure for pushing them in? Just push?

I usually take the bottom of a closed hand, and give them a good beating in towards the truck

I can do it this way easily.
Sitting in the truck while driving, grab the top bar and fold it towards you. Use your hand to push it in while your back is against the seat. You can also pull them out by pulling on the space between the 2 bars. Then use the top bar to push back out. Voila! LOL |

My version was from outside the truck. Marty's version inside. We got ya covered where ever you are

If you have pulled them in and out before then you have a problem but i thought i read somewhere that the 99's mirrors don't pull in or out they are just fixed position.

I agree with the other guys.. sometimes it takes a little force.. but that's ok.. that means that once you put them into a position, they will stay there!!
The early versions of these mirrors did not have the adjustment, they were fixed in the wide position... They also did not have the two directional break-away!! |
