MAX AC ASSIST: AC Control Valve QUESTION

http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...PROD&ProdID=21

Does this only work on MAX AC? I would want to to shut it off on non recirc and recirculated AC.

Funny, I was just on Bob's site looking at this not 30 seconds ago.
It looks like it only activates and shuts off coolant to the heater core in the MAX setting. I agree it would be nice to work on the non recirculated air too, but I don't think it does.

Anybody who have this want to comment on how much colder the air gets?

Sorry for the slight hijack

these valves work good. my truck has it and it gets noticeably colder on max a/c. i thought all super duties got this valve, but i was corrected. i put this on my 90 and it made a difference.

Think there is any way to make it work when you want it too?

it just uses vacuum to open and close the valve. if you wanted to route in a switch to a vacuum source, you could turn it on any way you want. if you dont want to fab anything, the vacuum source is only there on max a/c....

i have a few buddies who put an inline valve on the heater hose... they have no problems so far and works in both settings.

I did this to mine & def made A/C better. If you want to make valve close in all the pos left of the floor/def you put the T in the red vac line at the plug behind the glovebox. I tried it that way but ended up just using the white vac line right at the vac cannister just above the carpet on pass side, there is a rubber plug right there to go through the firewall. Used NAPA part # BK6601866 valve in the hose that goes from pass head to heater core. Ford-Trucks.com has a huge thread with several diff ways to do this.
