Wierd Question

So I was goin' down the highway the other day and of course the speed limit was 70 and I just happened to look down and it said I was doin' roughly 61 or so, so I slowed down to 55 and then I accelerated again to where I knew I was doin' more than 61 so surely enough my speedometer doesn't go past 61 or 2. It works just fine all the way up until that speed, but any speed past 61 or so won't work. The needle just stops there. How do I go about fixin' somethin' like this?

Is it a computer issue? VSS issue? IC issue? Any codes? A code will be set if the comp doesnt like the reading it gets from the VSS. The IC can also cause this issue if it has a bad ground, though this would cause issues with multiple gauges. If the computer is calibrated wrong or has a hard speed limit the gauge might stop a 61-ish (speed fooler).

I'm not really sure. I don't reckon it's throwin' any codes. I just noticed it the other day and figured I'd ask. I'm not sure how to check for codes. I was thinkin' it could calibrated wrong, maybe. I'm probably way off though.

Send a message via Yahoo to F250 Fever
take it down to an auto zone and ask them to run your codes on your truck
