running kerosene??

I was talking with a guy this afternoon who also has a powerstroke. He said to clean the injectors internally he runs kerosene about 10 gallons once in a while. He waits til he's almost on empty then runs thru 10 gallons of kerosene.
Will this work or is it a real bad idea?

Dont know about cleaning the injectors - but I have run K in the past when no money and low on fuel - got the stuff free off the jobsite.

My dad said that he ran kerosene back during WWII in cars, had a separate gas tank for starting and warm up then switched to kero. Said it did smoke a lot but you could buy kero but gas was scarce.

you could run it but make sure you add some form of lube. 2 stroke works well or veggie. ULSD is already lacking the lube for our injectors. mixing K with ULSD is not a good idea because of the little lube.

Some "Winter Blend" fuel is as much as 30% Kero, so you might have been burning it for some time now

How much is a gallon of K and where do you buy it? I have never seen a gas station selling K.
