Pending Surgery
My truck is pending surgery. All 8 injectors are going to be replaced. As soon as I come up with the money for the new injectors.
Cylinders 1,3,4 fail contribution test when cold. Truck is missing, surging, running rough, and some times stalls when engine is cold. Hard starting when cold even in the 60 degree weather I have been having this week. When the truck does finally start up it blows big clouds of white smoke out the exhaust and you can smell the raw fuel in it. So it is time for new injectors. I am not going to do the ones that are bad. I am doing them all. 215,000 miles on them. |

I was like WTF? Why is this in the 7.3 Diesel section... Then read the thread. Sorry to hear about it, Scott. At least you got some miles out of your stockers.

![]() Yeah those are 215,000 hard driven miles too. I just need to come up with the money to repair the truck. |

Are you sure your UVCH hasn't come loose?

At 215,000 it owes you nothing.

If it was the harness it would do it all the time. But my problem is only cold. Also the injectors pass contribution test when engine is at normal operating temp.
The only true way is to pull the injectors and send them out to be tested. If I am pulling them I am replacing them with Stage 1s. |
