No acceleration issue

Dad was driving my truck to today and he said when he got back in it ready to come home that he put it in reverse and backed out ok, then he put it in 1st went to step on the skinny pedal and it didn't accelerate and the Service Engine Soon light came on. He then depressed clutch and put it into neutral and let it run for little bit, then tried to go again and the light went out and it accelerated fine.
Since then I have driven the truck throughout the afternoon and evening and it has been working great. It seems kinda weird that it acted up once and hasn't done it again. Any ideas of what the problem could be?

We tried to scan it at my buddy's place tonight but the reader kept saying to connect it, even though it was.
I had a brainstorm after I got home to check the fuse and sure enough number 3 for cig lighter and OBD II port was blown and I didn't have a spare
We'll try to scan it tomorow after I get a fuse for it and see what comes up.
