new with questions

hey all just bought a 99 powerstroke first one and had a few questions. got rid of muffler and put the napa filter on thinking about 6in stacks is there any cons to stacks? and lost in the whole programer deal theres so many to chose from was thinking about the bully dog triple dog. is there any cheap upgrades like turbo cars swichin vac lines for more boost? and was told by a local shop i need to upgrade my torc convertor before addin a programer because the stock one is like a timebomb when u add any power to it any advice on a good one was told the tci one from summit was junk and advise is very helpfull thanks all

Welcome to the org. The only problem with stacks is it takes up bed space and it makes a mess (esp on a white truck). I would go with gauges and then a chip. I would do pyro, tranny temp, and boost gauge. Then use a custom chip like PHP, Beans, TW, or DP.

all here reccomend custom tunes for psd's. best part is as you mod most of the tuners will reburn for free to make full use of the new mods.
