Excessive or somewhat normal ???

Quick vid of smoke that comes out of oil tube. Truck has 229,5xx on her at the moment. The cap would probably stay on better if vibration wasn't so bad. I use a quart or so every 1.5 to 2,000 miles. Dosn't seem any worse than my moms new 07 f150 that uses about the same, lol

considering how much my truck smokes at idle with the vent i'd say its not bad...the engine rattles so much the oil cap will hop around..lol.

I have 302xxx on mine and nowhere near that much smoke or pressure. Id say you got some blow by on her, but you might try some lucas oil additive maybe that will help.

I have 160,000 miles on mine and nowhere near that much smoke or pressure. I do use about the same amount of oil as you though. I think Ford considers anything less than 1 qt every 1000 miles normal usage for the 7.3L. I'm not sure how much blow-by you have to have before it means big problems though, so just because you have more than a few of us doesn't mean your motor is on the verge of blowing up.
