Turbo surge and resistor questions

OK so after I added my 6637 filter I noticed that when I was in the gas or it shifted at WOT I would get this whoosh sound. Is this surge? Is surge bad? Or is this just the waste gate?

Second thing. I have heard about a 5k mod. WHat can you gain from this? DOes it have any side effects? I don't have a chip or anything. I have gauges diy intake and 4" turbo back exhaust. Didn't know if the 5k thing would help out.

well see diesels dont have blow off valves so when you release that boost the excess air's gotta go somewhere, so it goes back out the intake..completely normal.. i hear it a lil stock but ya its worse with the 6637 im sure..

I did the resistor thing and didn't like it. The power felt good but the idle was all jacked up. Not for me.
