Trans flush?

So i'm probably buying a 2000 psd this week, 75k miles, 2wd, mbrp 4", dp 3 pos custom chip. Truck was used to tow a race car about 8-10 times a year. He is the second owner of the truck so not sure if the trans has ever been flushed, i'm assuming no but the fluid is red. Would it be a catostrophic move to get the trans flushed?

depends. a pan drop might be enough. just depends on how it drives and shifts. take it to a trans shop and ask them. i had mine fully flushed about 4months ago.

Thanks, I took it for a test ride today and everything felt great with positive shifts. After I buy it I will take it to an expert as well as purchase an auxilliary cooler.

does the fluid smell burnt? if so it does need change. im told you run the risk of killing a transmission by changing the oil. but then its already on a path of wearing out. so its a catch 22 imo. your at 75k so i would think it would be fine since its still low millage. mine was 119k when i bought it and changed it like 128k. i changed mine so i can have that point of when it was done and go onward from there.
