I'm in the market for a Ford diesel and i have a line in on a 2002 F350 Lariat Crew Cab 7.3L w/ 221k Miles on it (360km). The body is in mint shape and it has had 2 owners, the original put on 60k miles and the 2nd owners did the rest.
They traveled from canada to tx towing there trailer.
Was never a "rig" truck or "work" truck (was the wife's vehicle).

They are asking $7900 but i'm sure i could get them to $7000 or less.

Sounds like a good deal to me! CA prices are higher. 221k miles is not an issue, overall condition is.
