LOW BOOST

I know boost issues have been brought up before but I cant find the answer to mine.
I installed an edge evolution for the gauge function and I have found that the turbo doesn't boost over 14#. (or the gauge does not go higher than 14#)

things I have tried
1. adjusting 6 pos chip
2. removing red vac hose
3. tightening actuator arm
4. wiring waste-gate closed
5. tightening inter-cooler hoses

I do hear a fluttering sound at higher boost levels like the wastegate is opening but it cant (wired shut)
And still no change, so my question is what do i try next.

Have you pressurized the tubes to check for connector boot leaks? Also make sure there are no up-pipe leaks.....Fred

how do i know if the turbo is in good condition? Do i just check for end play and its easy to spin?

would I see soot around the clamps if the up pipe was leaking? because I have looked from every angle with a mirror and no soot.

The soot on mine wasnt really that noticable, it wasnt on the firewall or anything. If your turbo is good meaning your compressor wheel isnt beat up and you dont have alot of play in the shaft then its got to be up pipes or a leaking intercooler boot.

What type of gauges are you using? Could be the gauge itself. Yes the carbon build up at the up pipe joints is very noticeable. Even with the poor Edge tunes you should be seeing 20+.

I am using the edge for the gauge function and the TS 6 pos for the tune.
do you think maybe there is a conflict in the gauge (false reading with the TS chip and edge together)?

Night be the tunes. I have TW tunes. I boost 27-30psi in heavy tow. Only about 10psi in extreme. Other tunes have other boost levels.
