Lookin at a Powerstroke...
Hey everybody. Im new to the whole powerstroke game, and im looking to buy a 99 F-250 that is for sale down the road from a ranch we farm. All ive done is look at it through the chain link fence its behind. The for-sale sign says '99 Ford F250 156,000 miles. good truck. Now what would 150,000 miles be on the truck and motor? thanks. Nick.

Welcome to the forum.
If the truck has been well cared for then it's just getting broken in. Well maybe a little more than just broken in, but it should have at least that much life left in again. 300,000 is a prety normal life for a 7.3. Jay |

Thats about what i figured. How about transmissions? or the rest of the truck. Will they hold up like the motor?

On the trannys it really depends on how they were treated. A 6spd manual will literally last forever in it isn't abused. Mine was beat like a red-headed stepchild by the first owners and I had to have it rebuilt at about 175K. The auto trannys will hold up for a long time too unless your putting a lot of stress on 'em. You'd have to talk to the seller and see what kind of work the truck has been doing over the last few years and if the original tranny is still in there.
