Is this a good deal

I look at a early 99 F-350 dually cc 4x4 6 speed. It has 220,000 miles. Over all the truck looks good no major damage. It sounds LOUD in the cab like the shifter boot is leaking. The valley has oil in it but it looks like it coming form the intercooler boot. It needs a set of tires bad. The price is 11,995 is this too much? Is the oil leaking in the valley from the intercooler boot a big problem?

thats alot i only payed 6500 for my truck with 142000miles it has brand new turbo and injectors and tires. im not sure of the leak

seems like a good truck. the oil in the valley is pretty common it could be a hpop o-ring leaking. but yet use that to beat up the price. replacing the boots is easy and you could check for any boost leaks by doing a smoke test/ or a pressure test. 220,000 is not bad IF it has been properly maintained then i will go for a lot longer. 12k is a bit high though. just for reference i purchased my 2000 f250 for 13k it only has 120miles on it, plus its a lariat. i would offer him 9-10 if i was you.

the guy i got it from couldnt afford it he was going to lose his house thats why it was so cheap i found it on craigslist and bought it the 2hrs. later only thing i did was fit the tinted windows the were not done right and put new power lock act. in it

It's a terrible deal.. Don't buy it.. Where is it located though?? lol. (in other words, yes, it SOUNDS like a good deal)
Our 2000 is loud in the cab no matter what, even after we tightened the shifter rubber..
Most ppl won't let go of their 7.3l for under 17,000..
The oil from the boots is no big, it's a common thing to have leaking boots. Especially after 200,000m..
I give you the green light!!! Sounds like a good buy

How quiet will I be able to get it in the cab? It is 10 times louder that my 97.

When we tightened ours down it helped a LOT.. But it is still noisy (compared to my 6.0l). If it's anything like our 7.3l, then it's decent while driving until you accelerate or stress the engine any.. When you give a little gas, it gets kinda chattery and loud.. But cruising is perfectly fine..
