My truck vs. a stock 99 ranger

ok first off, my truck is an early 99. straight pipes, 5.6k resistor mod, unplugged wastegate, ? gears(goes around 2100 at 75 mph). and my buddy thinks he can beat me in a 4.0 completely stock ranger. dont know what gears or anything. So who do you think would win in a drag?

a stock early 99 is pretty sluggish. If it were chipped it'd be a different story..

he gets you in this race of stock vehicles

my bet is the ranger if the 4.0 is running right.

...and the driver can actually drive.

I bet you will win by a very small amount. Those 99's were the OHV 4.0 right? My buddies stock cummins was WAY faster then my SOHC 4.0 and stock my SD can hold it's own much better to that same truck.

stock early99?? 5.6k mod is junk, so the only mod is the exhaust. With the stock trash a$$ PCM and AB code injectors? 2100RPM at 75mph is 3.73 rear gears..

While that truck may pull the world if you get enough traction and pull it all day, a bear on a tricycle would probably out run it.
