im using rotella as well... i have never used royal purple in a diesel but i have used it in my mustang and i liked it but its a lil pricy when you have to put 15q in our trucks of it....

Use whatever you want, and can afford.

How long to use it? Up to you, however all the oil labs (ie; Blackstone) can run test on a sample to tell you everything you need to know.. that is an option you can go to figure out actual change times.

I run Rotella. I'm sure there are better, but on my 3rd PSD and I've only run Rotella...
