5w 40 synthetic, ok to run all year?
i live in florida and tow 18k about once every 3 months, i'm thinking about running a thinner oil to help with starting with these tired injectors.

as long as you dont have any oil leaks switching to the 5w40 syn. will help out. but if you have any minor leaks the synthetic oil will really leak.

Waste of money and no added benefit. Plus our trucks call for a 15W precursor - not a 5w. It's awfully thin for an industrial engine and as stated WILL leak more if you already have any leaks.

its not really a waste of money. especially not in cold weather i switched this winter to the 5w40 syn. and it made my cold starts 10x's smoother than with the 15w40
